Following the very recent implementation of the major site update, before I released that to the public site version, I had decided I was going to do Linux Mint after pushing out CachyOS. I didn't know which version, all I knew was that I wanted to do Linux Mint.
Given this is just a release of a new collection, there isn't a lot I can really talk about here or go into detail about. But I can somewhat explain the process I used to gather the pictures so easily.
First, I went to the Mint website. I downloaded the newest one, 22.3 (Code-named Zena) in Cinnamon. When that was done, I just opened up Gnome Boxes, added the ISO, gave it the usual 4GB of RAM and 35GB of Storage, as I do with all of my Boxes.
After getting past the boot menu and into the live desktop, unlike with Zorin where I instantly installed it to play with originally, I downloaded Mint to extract the wallpapers, and nothing more. Though I'll probably install it at some point to play with like I did with Zorin.
On the live desktop, I went into the file manager, and went straight to /usr, not thinking it would work straight out of the box, running off the ISO alone. But it did, which was good. I went to the normal /share/backgrounds folder and found everything there. Easy enough past that point, right? Not exactly.
After I had compressed both wallpaper folders into a practical ZIP and uploaded it to an anonymous Mediafire account, I went to copy and paste the link from the VM to my Host browser. But it wouldn't do it, weird. I also tried via a text file inside of the VM, but copying from that didn't work either. So I came up with a plan.
I signed into blank.page on both desktops, and copied the link into a page on there from within the VM. I went over to my host, and copied the link from there. From there I just downloaded it from the anonymous Mediafire account post and uploaded it to Mega which is where I post all my collections.
I had set up the Mint sub-page under collections before starting this, so it was easy enough to replace links and images.
With that rambling over, I hope you enjoy the end result, featuring only the Core wallpapers built into Mint in their intended quality. But that's what this site is about, isn't it? You can check out the Mint collection here.
I have just pushed a new collection, Ubuntu 26.04 'Resolute Raccoon'! I hope everyone is satisfied with the outcome.
For this one, I just extracted the files from a Fresh new ISO file of the current Ubuntu Release, making this a more time-efficient method when possible (Though I still prefer to boot into the desktop since its more fun).
Enjoy the collection, my Future Konquerors.
I have dropped yet another new collection on a whim, MX 25 'Infinity' KDE Plasma! I hope you Konquerors all enjoy the outcome I have provided, directly from the greatest folder in the live desktop.
You heard that right, it's time for a new collection. This time, the new one is not your traditional Linux, as I have chosen to tackle Elementary OS. I ended up on the Wallpaper section of the Elementary Github after attempting to run the newest ISO, via Boxes, and even Virtual Box, where it turned out to be an absolute pain in the ass to get working properly, even on the live ISO. It doesn't help I locked myself out of the new account I made within the first second of making it after installing Elementary to the virtual disk.
Regardless of that, I hope you all enjoy the collection, since the wallpapers from 8.0 (The one on the repository) seem pretty much the same images, and file names compared to the newest one I downloaded (8.1).
I have just released an all-in-one bundle featuring every collection released within the first 2 days of going public! This includes Zorin, Cachy, Mint, Ubuntu, MX and last of all, the most recent one, Elementary. This was created to celebrate the massive progress boost I have made with this site so quickly.
See it Here.
I have Finally decided to create and release the collection for my Daily Driver, Bazzite. This took surprisingly long to come to mind, but I realised it was mindlessly simple, So there ya go. If you want to keep reading, I will summarise the changes I've made along side this.
If not, click Here to go to the collection. Some of these changes coming up should be on New Features/Changes in a seperate post, but I genuinely cba to make a whole different entry for them since I'm publishing them in the same update as the collection is releasing on anyway.
Updated the wording of the About me text on the home page.
Updated the Desktop image under About me on the homepage.
Fixed the Early Days Bundle Download link to actually link to the right download. I forgot to change it from Elementary OS previously, Since I always duplicate the last Collection's page for each new one and just change the images, text and links. This approach I have used since v1.0.0 ensures a consistent look across all collection pages, and an always familiar layout for the user.
Some other super small stuff I fogor but if you look close enough you probably will see them i guess but you probably wont because they r so small ok im gonna stop yapping now
