Sharing Guidelines
Picture: Black (Mint 22.3 'Zena')
These are the guidelines for sharing collections with me, and must be followed.
To begin the process once you've read everything, DM me on Discord (cyancordyt).
Taking Wallpapers directly from (If there is one) an Official Wallpaper Repository. But this must be mentioned if you do package them up yourself, as transparency of the source is everything on this website.
Renaming* them for sorting, but not removing the core part of the file name. (e.g. cachysurf4 > Cachy Surf 4 - This is acceptable. It is easier to manage, but still keeps the core name intact and things simple.)
Ripping them directly from usr/background/share in your own machine. This is the main Idea of the site. But if your chosen distribution has different wallpapers across versions, then it is mandatory you tell me the version of the OS used. For example, if you use Ubuntu, you have to mention the release (e.g. Noble Numbat or 24.04 LTS, either works for Ubuntu specifically. But this information is mandatory to include if your Distro falls into this category.)
Upscaling the wallpapers (if they are older and lower quality) via AI, or any other tools. I strive on always having the rawest form of wallpaper possible in their original resolutions. Though this rule also generally ties into the next one.
Image Altering. This can be anything that changes how the image looks, and even if the difference is small, I will never accept modified images. I don't have to say much here.
Watermarked images from other Wallpaper sites. You know the ones I'm on about, where you find a cool wallpaper in a good resolution but then it has an annoying Wallpaper(blank).com watermark in the corner. These will not be accepted, and removing the watermark via AI is not accepted either. You must tell me if you have done this, or I will ask you instead.
Renaming* them, and removing the core part of the file name. (e.g. cachysurf4 > cachy os wallpaper - This is not acceptable. It goes against the renaming guidelines. Same also applies for any inappropriately named files.)
During the Share Process, I may verify you by asking you to share a screenshot/camera shot of your screen with the usr/share/backgrounds folder open on your machine. I also require one* other thing:
If you are sharing it via a link (e.g. google drive, mega, mediafire, etc.) then you are required to create a text file within the backgrounds folder, make sure it is visible in your file manager in the screenshot, and also have it open at the same time.
If it is a zip file, I simply require you to have that same zip file showing along side the raw image files in the file manager. Have it open alongside, just like with the text file if you use a link instead.
If you are using a VM, whether that be through Gnome Boxes on Linux, or VirtualBox on Windows, these rules still apply. You are also required to have your VM Instance windowed in the screenshot, shown alongside my DM's with you (if through discord), open along side the window of the VM. I will also require some sort of proof you are signed into the discord account messaging me, such as a client screenshot. Keep in mind if you do this you only need the necessary information, such as your profile visible in the corner, and our messages open and fully visible. You can cover anything else up, but I won't do anything with the unnecessary information visible.
These verification requirements may sound like over-reach, but I assure you it is just so I can be 100% sure it is you who has done everything yourself. I don't want to unknowingly host altered images, or anything that goes against the guidelines I created. I hope you understand. I will never use this information in any other way, only to verify your identity and the legitimacy of the source and collection, and you haven't done a lazy job. Preparing these screenshots before starting the Share process will save time, so I recommend you do that earlier on.
All available Collections, unless stated otherwise, have been gathered in my own time, with or without the help of others to achieve the same goal for each.
